Contains the following type of materials: photographs. Covers the following time period: 1777-1981. General description of the collection: The Inspector General (IG) photograph collection consists of photographs initially acquired for use in a history of the Inspector Generals Department (Dept.) / Branch. There are copies of paintings and photographs of the IG throughout history from the first IG in 1777 through 1978 and photos of inspections at various times from 1918 to the 1970s. Photos of promotion ceremonies and medal presentations to various IG personnel and staff photos of departments of the IG office in the Pentagon (1944-1978) are included. Collection also contains various photos of the IG Ball, IG Conference, and miscellaneous activities in the late 1970s.
